Our Credentials

We Are 21st Century Certified Watchmakers

Rolex requires that only CW21 watchmakers repair their watches. You should also insist on this. We proudly display our watchmaker's CW21 certificate in our store. Please ask to see it.

CW21 stands for 21st Century Certified Watchmaker. This distinctive designation is from the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute and assures that the watchmaker has successfully completed testing on various chronograph, automatic, and quartz watches. There are fewer than 300 CW21 watchmakers in America.

Our Process

The LeeBrant Watch Service, Step by Step

Every watch that enters our workshop, from a vintage Rolex to a modern Swiss automatic, follows the same ten-step standard of care.

Step One

Inspection & Estimate

When we receive your watch, our CW21 watchmaker and trained staff will inspect it for condition and give you an estimate while you wait. If mailed to us, we'll call you with the estimate the day the watch is received.

Step Two

Disassembly & Cleaning

The case is removed from the bracelet. The serial and model numbers are recorded in our database. The movement is dismantled and each part is inspected before being ultrasonically cleaned in a special chemical solution.

Step Three

Genuine Parts

At LeeBrant, we have a parts account with most Swiss watch companies, where we order and use only the manufacturer's genuine parts. Included in our service are replacement of the gaskets and replacement of acrylic crystals on the models which have them.

Step Four

Movement Reassembly & Lubrication

The movement is carefully reassembled using the different viscosities of lubricants required by the manufacturer. Rolex requires up to five different lubricants, assuring that your timepiece will last for years to come and perform within the manufacturer's standards.

Step Five

Calibration & Testing

After assembly of the movement, it is calibrated to manufacturer's exacting standards. The movement is tested for several days in different positions, assuring you of optimum performance.

Step Six

Case Refinishing

We refinish the case and bracelet to restore them as close as possible to the original luster and finish.

Step Seven

Reassembly

The case and movement are carefully reassembled.

Step Eight

Water Resistance Testing

Each watch is pressure tested using three different steps to assure your watch meets water resistance to depths required by each manufacturer.

Step Nine

Final Assembly & Inspection

The final step is attaching the bracelet or strap to the case and examining the finish and accuracy of your watch.
